Platycerium Moby Dick Sporeling

Whiter than legend, wilder than myth — a Moby Dick reborn in silver and swirl.  A striking conversation piece for the avid platycerium collector. The Moby Dick sporeling promises generous white variegation across its fronds, reminiscent of its namesake’s snowy baleen. These sporelings are grown with patience from selected spores, resulting in high-contrast green-and-white foliage. Already acclimated and robust, each plant is ready to develop its massive shield and antler fronds.

This new hybrid thrives with bright, indirect light and regular misting. Because of its size potential, we encourage mounting on a board or growing in a large basket. Its roots will attach easily to wood or bark. Watch for thick, leathery shields surrounding the rootbase and broad, deeply lobed fertile fronds blazing with white.
