An exotic Platycerium rarity for advanced collectors. The Ubon #3 sporeling is a recently developed hybrid hailing from Thailand. Although its exact parentage is closely guarded, this plant is notable for its smooth, wavy antler fronds and sturdy shield base. Our spore-grown Ubon #3 plants are acclimated to our greenhouse, producing new fronds that hint at the plant’s unique lineage.

Treated like other epiphytic staghorns, Ubon #3 does best mounted on bark or wood, with bright filtered light and consistent moisture. Watch for broad shield fronds early on, followed by deeply split fertile fronds that may take on subtle olive-green hues. Its medium growth habit makes it a perfect showpiece in a hanging basket or mounted display.
